Grey paver terrace with a square gas fire table, cedar swing pergola and a charcoal soldier-course border

Paver terrace, fire table, pergola

Fire Table Terrace & Cedar Pergola

The brief

A rear terrace built to hold three separate things at once — dining, a fire table and a swing pergola — without any of them crowding the others.

The site

Flat, open ground with lawn on three sides, so the terrace edge is what gives the space its shape. A charcoal soldier course was run as a hard border to read against the field and hold the paving at the lawn line.

What we built

  • Grey paver terrace with a charcoal soldier-course border
  • Square gas fire table set into the terrace field
  • Cedar pergola with hung swings on the lawn side
  • Terrace pitched away from the house and edged to lawn
