Circular paver terrace with a curved seat wall and stone fire pit, linked to the pool by a flagstone-in-pea-stone path

Fire pit terrace, seat wall, stone path

Circular Fire Pit Terrace & Poolside Path

The brief

A back yard with a pool at one end and no reason to walk to the other. A circular fire pit terrace was built as a second destination, with a stone path linking the two.

The site

The circular geometry sets everything else: the seat wall follows the radius, the surrounding beds are cut to it, and the path meets it on a tangent rather than running into it square.

What we built

  • Circular paver terrace with a radial laying pattern
  • Curved seat wall to roughly two-thirds of the circle, capped
  • Stone fire pit on the terrace centre
  • Irregular flagstone stepping path set in pea stone linking terrace, pool and house
  • Perimeter planting beds cut to the terrace radius
