Kamaye is a design-build landscape company based in Norton. We draw the plan, we run the excavator, and we lay the stone — the same people from the first site walk to the last joint swept.
Rachid Ali
Kamaye is run by Rachid Ali out of Norton. The company does design-build landscape work — drawing the plan and then building it — rather than bidding on someone else’s drawing and hoping the two agree.
The part that sets the work apart is unglamorous: we self-perform the excavation. Most design firms in this corridor hand the groundwork to a subcontractor, which means the biggest line item on the job runs on somebody else’s calendar and carries somebody else’s margin. We own the machines and run them ourselves.
That is also why we keep the service area small. Six towns, all inside half an hour of the shop, is a radius we can genuinely commit a schedule to. We would rather know the ground under a few towns properly than be nominally available across the county.
