Front walk, planting, drainage margin
Curved Entry Walk & Foundation Planting
The brief
A colonial with no real front approach — the way in ran across the lawn from the driveway. The work replaced it with a proper walk and rebuilt the foundation beds around it.
The site
Roof water was discharging at the foundation along the front of the house. The new beds carry a washed-stone margin against the foundation to take that discharge and move it away, with the walk itself pitched to shed clear of the house.
What we built
- Curved paver walk from the driveway to the front step, with a soldier-course border holding the radius
- Full-depth compacted base under the walk
- Washed-stone drainage margin along the foundation line, over filter fabric
- Foundation planting: clipped boxwood, variegated hakonechloa, heuchera and dwarf conifers
- Bed edging cut and mulched to a defined line against the lawn
Self-performed
Excavation · Base and drainage · Paving · Planting
Our own machines and our own operators — not a subcontractor’s schedule, and not a second margin on the biggest line item.
